Melody and I had a wonderful fishing trip last Sunday with my Uncle Larry.
It was a stunning day on Lake McClure, and Melody caught her first fish too!
I’m so incredibly thankful for days like this.

Needless to say, it’s a difficult day for my family.
We all miss her so much, and the “firsts” without those we have lost, are especially hard.

We are so lucky for birthdays that we were able to celebrate with her, and I know I’ll be focused on remembering those today.

Happy birthday baby girl, Sissa loves you and misses you, so very much.

Being her Mama has brought me so much beauty and light, even in the darkest moments, her existence is my comfort and I am forever grateful.

This is Fable, and today I was able to save her from the shelter, and become her foster Mama. 🖤
She’s the sweetest, and is already so good with Melody and the other animals.
I do hope and plan to adopt her when the time comes.
She is an Australian Kelpie and around 9 or 10 months old.

Funny thing is, this isn’t the first time something like this has been said to me.

Though on that note..
Do you really think I gained weight by enjoying food that doesn’t taste good? No.

So what makes you think I’d want to get fit and healthy by eating food I don’t like, and that my family won’t enjoy?

I’ll never be one to eat meat substitutes, become a vegan/ vegetarian, or completely give up food I like.
That’s how being healthy is sustainable for me, personally.
Not trying to call any particular group out, but it just isn’t realistic or enjoyable for me.

I focus on eating meat and veggies, and try to have as little processed food as possible, but I still live life.

Make the cuts where you can.
Be knowledgeable of what you consume, move and challenge your body, but enjoy life, and have food with flavor. 🤷🏻‍♀️

P.S. many herbs have great medicinal power and make food delicious, win/win.

I met some awesome people, enjoyed good food and drinks, got many compliments on my outfit, killed it with the Poe trivia, and was even mistaken for a part of the show by a couple of the directors of the event.
Then the night ended with a showing of The Raven (1963), starring Vincent Price.
It was a spooky girl’s delight.
